Please allow me to introduce myself.
I'm Ġorġ Mallia, a Maltese academic who is also in love with books, comics, cartoons and anything that's media related. At the moment I'm the head of the Department of Media and Communications at the University of Malta. There I also lecture in design, illustration, visual narrative, and personal communications.
I love to draw. In fact, I would tend to say that I'm a compulsive sketcher, though I also manage to finish some illustrations and cartoons for publication. I also write non-stop... almost as if my life depended on it. My favourite genre is fantasy (most of the books I've written for children are fantasies), though I do read thrillers and science fiction as well (if I'm reading fiction, that is). I was a bookworm as a child, and have grown into a book lover as an old(er) man.
Media is my life. I talk about it, I teach it, I do it. I've produced radio and television programmes, have produced books, magazines and (not incredibly well) websites, and am massively interested in anything related to social media.
I'm married to a brilliant Danish artist and we live in Malta and Sweden.
There's more about me in an actual résumé, so, if you like, you can READ MORE HERE.
